PBS Kids Sprout subscriber base will grow approximately 50% as they ink a deal with Cox Communications. Sprout, which is offered on Comcast and Insight cable services, is currently available in about 12 million homes. Cox’s 6.2 million subscribers will push that number over 18 million. With Thanksgiving past us, and stations not launching the bulk of their holiday programming until next week, things are pretty quiet. Playhouse Disney announced their Christmas themed programming, including new episodes of Charlie and Lola, Little Einsteins, Koala Brothers. In October Little Einsteins premiered on the Disney Channel, and instantly became a favorite in our household. The show manages to combine fine arts with other educational elements such as science, geography, and problem-solving. The show manages to actively engage kids and encourage participation.
