In an interview in the New York Post Shane and David indicated that they might not do a second sason.
Doing more episodes “is a big question for us,” says Dundas. “We’re really not kid’s entertainers and the last thing I want is to be boxed into any particular area. There are enough Wiggles out there.”
The article goes on to say that Nickelodeon will make a final decision in February about the show’s future.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! TUDS is by far our favorite show, and it holds up so well to repeated watching. My mildly-autistic 4 year old now spends approximately 85% of his time describing everything via “remote” commands. He even asked if he could have his hair cut “like Shane’s,” but mean mommy that I am, I said no to that one.
Can I just say that I am actually upset that they might not do another season of the “Upside Down Show” because they aren’t really entertainers for kids. Well let me just say that they have NO IDEA how many kid fans they have. Every mother I have spoken with has mentioned the show. My 2 year old can’t get enough!!! He asks for it every single day and when i say he doesn’t miss a day, he literally doesn’t. I’m upset with this!!! What about the fans?? It sounds rather selfish to me to say “they aren’t kids entertainers” and that “they don’t want to be boxed in one particular area” There is enough Wiggles out there!!??” Is he kidding!!??
I can understand their apprehension. I recently attended one of their live shows (Speedmouse), which was specifically and clearly marketed as “not appropriate for those under 10 years old”. (It wasn’t too racy, but definitely NOT a little-kid show.) Despite the marketing and “warning” about age, their were way too many families with young children in the crowd, several of whom brought pictures of “imaginary remote controls” with them.
I could see, from Shane and Dave’s perspectives, how going forward with a kids’ show might compromise the work they are able to successfully present in the future. (I blame the arrogant parents who think “oh, my kid is so mature that the age suggestion is irrelevant…”, but I digress)
I would love to have them off the air! Good riddance to Lazy Town, too!
Geee….you’re quite the serious one aren’t you Ms. Denice…hate to tell you this, but you’re in the minority when it comes to disliking the show. But the good things is, you always have your REAL remote control, so you can always simply change the channel.
I’m sad to see it go as a mom of 4 ages 2-6yrs it’s one of the few they all agree on. I understand the guys and appreciate if their hearts not in it, them moving on. Perhaps though noggin should consider groundwork of a great show being in place and them finding a way to build on it. Blue’s Clues didn’t die
. Just a suggestion. P.S. 2 of my kids love Lazy Town. They know what they like and if the base content is good -hey watch away( I read).
News! Shane and David are definately up for a 2nd season..it’s now up to the big wigs at Nickelodeon and Noggin to make the intelligent decision and bring back this wonderfully original, creative show… I’m part of a bunch of moms who’s kids LOVE the UDS and we’re trying to get an e-mail writing campaign going to let the executives know what WE want to see on TV. So visit umbilicalbrother(dot)com and check out the link on the home page to see how you can help make this happen!

Sorry for the mispost!
Final Word on The Upside Down Show
6.1.2007
To all the fans of The Upside Down Show, we reluctantly have to give you some bad news. We have received word from Nickelodeon/Noggin USA that they don’t want to do a second season. After all of the positive feedback we’ve received from around the world, and the show’s critical success, this decision is somewhat mystifying. Our executive producer Michael Bourchier has looked into other avenues to get another season off the ground and keep the show alive, but unfortunately he has run out of options. So we’d like to thank everyone involved in the show at Sesame Workshop and Blink Films, from conception (thanks Kurt and Belinda) right through to production here in Oz. The production team was brilliant, and we couldn’t ask for a better crew. And now we must move on to other challenges. Thanks for watching!

Umbies Coming
My five year old son is going to be torn when he finds out there will be no more Upside Down Show!!!! He loves this show! We watch it everyday. He is really going to miss you and the REMOTE! We’re sad to see you go

Shane and David absolutely NEED to continue at least another season!!!! My 24 month old daughter becomes entranced when they come on and I can’t pull her away from the television. I would really like to have some DVD’s of them b/c they have taught her very much…She even does “Action Fingers” – a 24 month old is doing what they do!! Someone has to convince these two that they are a huge influence on children. On a personal note, my husband and I love them just as much! We are always looking for new episodes to come on – they are absolutely incredible! They are not even close in category with the Wiggles!!!:(

I am a big fan of the Upside Down show! I think it teaches little kids how to expand their minds. I laugh at their jokes and at all of the rooms.
( wake-up room, this way room, etc.) It also looks like fun to have a televison show all about imagination and a bit of learning thrown in there too! I wish you guys didn’t have to go. =(
We love you Shane and David
But, I do think LazyTown should go ! Dora, is an O.K show but LazyTown is kind of annoying, and I no one else wants an annoying show that your kids like to copy off of. My 3 year old likes to do that.
Shane and David … was this really you replying? I am so sad if this is the case. My daughter who is 15 months old just loves your show. I mean .. come one .. she laughs so much and has learned so much from you guys. She plays “Action Fingers” with me all the time. Come on guys .. you are NOT the Wiggles … you have your own identity. There is nothing like you out there. Please … please follow trough. Try other ways to still be a part of our kids lives.
I wish you could have your shows available trough ITunes .. that would make my daughter so happy.
This is really sad … really …really SAD. =(
I am SO sad that you guys are not continuing with this show. My grandson, 2 1/2 is just positively entranced by your show. I just got done watching an episode about the cowbell and I was roaring through the whole show!! I wish you had some DVD/Videos of your season. I wanted to share it with others. You remind me a little bit of Monty Python. I wish the network would reconsider. I, myself, will miss your hilarious antics. …sigh…
i have to say im very upset by this, not only do my 2 year old twin nieces love this show but its the only thing that actually gets thier attention. I have to say as an adult that watches my nieces all the time this is one of the few shows i actually like watching. Shane and David arent just entertainers for kids but also for us easily amused adults, if you want to call me that. Atleast tell me we can get the shows on dvd?
I don’t believe it! I knew something was going on! My daughters who are 23 months and 10 months simply ADORE this show. I would clock watch everyday to make sure we never missed it! I have never seen my 23 month old so enthralled with a show before TUDS. I remember when she first saw it she was about 16 months old and she was actuallylaughing in response. Anyone who has kids knows that’s amazing. It’s wonderful noggin is 24 hours now but without Shane and David it’s not as great as it could have been. Thank God for Wubbzy though!!
I am way late on this one, but I wanted to post anyway and leave my mark in cyberspace. My autistic 5 year old loves this show and it is more than tolerable for adults. I am really sad about this… I showed my kid a rip-off “slow-mo button” T-shirt that I was thinking about getting him for his birthday and he was happier than I’ve ever seen him… Really, he just freaked out like some teenager at a Beatles concert. I don’t follow the behind the scene stuff with Noggin (God knows its on all the f’n time at my house…) but I just can’t figure this thing out. These guys could make like a gazillion dollars (I’d give them my dough!) and I can’t possible think of why no one would want to hop along for the ride. The only thing that makes sense is that the powers that be in media want to block any content that actually encourages thought with intelligent wit…
Go Diego Go…. and take Dora with ya!
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRESS “PLAY” ON THE REMOTE
This show is for all ages. My Husband and I laugh our _____ off. I love the creativity. The bold unleased sense of humor. I admired these guys for thier contribution to my happiness. I enjoyed, and looked forward to watching this Big time. Oh what a bummer.. Shane, David what are you thinking? You had such a good thing.?? Why?? Why? Can you really make more money else where? I don’t think so.. I doubt I will ever here your names again… Something to think about. Gioia
My 2 year old daughter and I fall asleep every night to Shane and Dave’s antics. I suppose our pleas fall on deaf ears, but as long as we still have our re-runs, we’ll get through it. Just please don’t take the show off the air entirely. I’d despise having to fall asleep to Maggy and the ferocious crap show. Or Max and who cares. This is one of the better kid shows that I can tolerate sitting through for thirty min.
Oh well. Fare well Shane and Dave. you will be missed and watched.
I cannot believe this show won’t continue. I was wondering why they are always being repeated and rotated by Noggin. We have to DVR them at 11 and 1130. My son loves Shane and David. They are far from a babysitter and truly are skilled. Shane and David, if you read this or any of the replies on your show…. try to find another production company.. or another outlet to air your talent! As an early childhood educator I feel that your talent is natural. You have talent that teaches kids and makes them laugh out loud. ( It takes alot to get a busy toddler to sit still for more than 20 minutes, be mesmerized and laugh with true delight!)
Does anyone know if there is a DVD in format compatible to US DVD’s? My daughter is heartbroken that the show is no longer on Noggin. She would wait up for it every night and last night it did not come on at its normal time. She has cried for two nights! I’m hoping there’s a DVD i can get my hands on.
Myra or anyone out there that may know. I to am looking for a DVD set compatible for US DVD players. My daughter is CRAZY ABOUT SHANE AND DAVID and action fingers. I have to say I was very disapointed when they took this off Noggin completly. I know I came in during the Re-run season but my daughter is just now 3. I have written a few times to Noggin to ask what happened to the show or if they know how i could get DVD’s of the show but, of course i have not heard back from them. So if anyone out there knows were i can get my hands on the DVD’s for the show PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
thanks much!!
My children and I are very upset that it is no longer on the air. I also have 2 autistic children and this show really entertains and teaches them. I credit it for teaching them how to pretend. I have just begun e-mailing the network, maybe if enough of us do, we’ll get the re-runs back.
OH NOOO! My kids LOVE this show, we MISS it! Please COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!
i need a upside down show dvd for my son. ever since it quit airing on tv all he has done is ask for it.
My son loves shane and david! he wants the dvd or it to be back on tv!
i just request it comes on earlier! not so late at night!
My 3 year old son LOVES “The Upside Down Show”, he was extremely upset when he found out Noggin no longer showed re-runs…we watched you guys every night before bed so im sad to hear the news!!! I guess we will just have to order all of your dvds…I hope you guys change your minds and come back!! I enjoyed the fact that Shane and David were both funny and very educational!!
My two year old daughter absolutely loves the Upside Down show. We’re very sorry to hear there aren’t any new episodes. David and Shane have a great presentation that is very entertaining to the young ones but has enough adult twists and humor that I can actually sit and watch with my two year old! I’m sad to know there aren’t any new shows coming.
My favorite moment…..on the Picnic episode when Shane does the Happy fly diddy and afterwords puppet and David have the back and forth “Say something…..No you say something……He’s your brother…..I told you not to let him move in!!!” I was laughing out loud and my two year old was looking at me like I was crazy!!!
I am crushed that this show is off the air. I have DVR’ed the 11:00PM episodes for my 3 1/2 year old and she is addicted to them! I’d love to see new episodes. I cannot believe that Nick Jr. would take this show off the air. Hands down this is the most popular show in my house. BRING THEM BACK!!!
This show is so creative. I am clamouring to get dvd with all episodes. It comes on way too late for my kids, but let them watch on weekends. (I know, that’s bad) I laugh right along with them. RIP UDs.
the idea that this show comes on at 11 at night is crazy!!! my 4 yr old little girl is crazy about upside down show…she is right in front on the tv when the guys come on, and she has the “remote” right in her hand. It would be nice if they are going to keep the show so dam late at night to at least bring it on dvd to the united states…i think nick jr made the worst choice on taking them off for makeing a new season…look at how many kids love it!!! its better than most the shows that are on nick jr….come nick jr think about, better reviews if u put the show back on, and put it on during the daytime!!
Now you can download season 1 (the only one) in your iPhone (iTunes). ….. And….daytime please!!!!!!!
I can’t believe they are not going to do another season!!! This is all my son watches. It’s like he gets lost in the show when it’s on. I really wish they would reconsider……..
I’d just like to say that our son who is 14months old LOVES TUDS! He sits on my lap and we munch “pop pop pop” (popcorn) before bedtime. I have it DVR’d, it’s our ritual! Being a new mom it wasn’t until I looked at the dates the shows were released that I realized the show was no longer on! I’m bummed…and am now looking for videos! I can’t believe it was actually said they weren’t child entertainers! This show (coming from an early childhood education teacher) teaches AWESOME imagination ideas not to mention the “adventures” they go one being extremely educational! I really wish this show would be reconsidered!
GUYS MY BABY SISTA IS DRIVING ME CRAZY SHE LOVES UPSIDE DOWN SHOWS. SOOOO U BETTER MAKE A NEW EPISODE YOU BITCHES
GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!! PEOPLE WHO HATE UPSIDE DOWN
I love the Upside Down Show!!! Why can’t they make more!!! I am 12 and loving the show!! It is always on at 11 pm if you want to record the shows or something. I always stay up late with my sister and brother to watch the show!!i love it so much!!!!it was so funny when they were singing a song to puppet to make him fall asleep because they were singing like a rock song really loud and got him to sleep!!i wish they could make more but ill just have to keep watching the same ones.
