CBS and DIC announce Saturday Morning Programming

CBS, which earlier this year parted ways with Nick Jr programming on the weekends, announced their new schedule. The “Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party” is a three hour block of programming featuring 8 shows. The shows are:

  • Cake
  • Dance, Dance, Dance
  • Horseland
  • Kooky Kitchen
  • Littlest Pet Shop
  • Trollz
  • Sabrina: The Animated series
  • Madeline

Where the Nick Jr. block is aimed at preschoolers, the Slumber Party block is aimed at children aged 6-12.

In addition to the shows there will be interestititals promoting healthy eating and lifestyles.

The new block will premier Saturday September 16th.

1-12 How We Became Little Einsteins - The True Story!: The storyline depicts the kids on the day they met Rocket and embarked on their first mission: a ’round the globe adventure to help Rocket find a home. Music - Antonin Dvorak. (Original Air Date: 01.08.05)

1-13 The Christmas Wish: Santa Claus brings specially-wrapped “wish boxes” for Leo, June, Quincy, and their “Swiss Army Ship,” Rocket - but Annie’s gift has fallen off Santa’s sleigh. The music-and adventure-loving team go on a ’round the world mission to find Annie’s missing present, gladly using their Christmas “wish boxes” to overcome the challenges they encounter. It’s “Mission Completion” when Annie retrieves her box from a snowy peak high on Mt. Everest, and makes her own wish: to spend the holidays surrounded by her friends. 1-20 The Good Knight and the Bad Knight When the team finds out that a good knight has been trapped inside a castle by a bad knight, they make it their mission to rescue him. They head off to a medieval castle where they search for the enchanted key and then storm the castle to save the knight. They must be careful though - the bad knight has put all kinds of traps around the castle to keep the good knight locked up. Music - “Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Morning Mood” by Edvard Grieg. 2-03 Quincy and the Magic Instruments -Quincy is practicing his instruments in his room, when he discovers a mysterious box containing four magical instruments. When he goes to show them to his friends, he discovers that the other Little Einsteins are marooned on the Arabian Sea with Rocket, whose anchor is hopelessly stuck at the bottom. Music - Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.” Art - Gustave Courbet.

2-04 Brothers & Sisters to the Rescue - Annie and Leo suddenly get drawn into the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. The Little Einsteins must find the gingerbread house by following Hansel and Gretel’s music note trail through the Black Forest in Germany. Music - Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5.” Art - German folk art.
