The Playhouse Disney block now only runs from 8 a.m. to noon. This makes the start of the block two hours later than in the past. Jo-Jo’s Circus, Johnny and the Sprites and The Doodlebops have been completely removed from the station. Higglytown Heroes now only airs on the weekends at 6 a.m. Also being de-emphasized is The Wiggles which is being pushed back to 11:30 a.m. from it’s “primetime” 7 a.m. slot.

Phineas and Ferb, Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Imagination Movers are the shows receiving more exposure. The new schedule is below:

Minnie’s Mystery When Minnie’s freshly baked muffins disappear and other strange happenings occur in the Clubhouse, Minnie and the gang set out to solve the mystery, on Playhouse Disney’s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” SATURDAY, JANUARY 24 (9:00–9:30 a.m. ET/PT).

Little Einsteins

Silly Sock Saves the Circus Leo’s amazing Silly Sock can do the most hilarious tricks – bounce, wiggle, stretch, even play a funny song – and he has big dreams of joining the Silly Clothes Circus in Paris, France. In order to reach the circus, the Little Einsteins and Silly Sock must overcome obstacles as they journey into the Louvre, through the Paris Metro, and under the Arc de Triomphe. Upon reaching the circus, they see that the other performers are in trouble, and Leo must help Silly Sock use his greatest trick of all to save the Circus and become the star of the show.

This episode of Playhouse Disney’s “Little Einsteins” airs SATURDAY, JANUARY 17 (8:00–8:30 a.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The episode features Franz Schubert’s “Trout Quintet” and Leonardo DaVinci’s famed “Mona Lisa.”

Imagination Movers

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Mouse? When the Movers TV is broken, they call Joe the Repairman to fix it. The only problem is that Joe is too frightened of Warehouse Mouse to do the job, so the Movers must come up with a solution to make Joe feel comfortable around their furry friend, on Playhouse Disney’s “Imagination Movers,” SATURDAY, JANUARY 31 (10:00a.m.–10:30a.m. ET/PT).

My Friends Tigger and Pooh

Tigger’s Day at the You-See-Um When Tigger has a hard time finding ‘special’ items for his new museum in Hundred Acre Wood, his Super Sleuth partners help him realize that it is not all about what you see, but how you-see-it.

Skunk’s Non-Scents The Super Sleuths are called on by a new arrival to the Hundred Acre Wood – Skunk, who is unable to produce a smelly stench like other skunks. When none of the Sleuths’ makeshift stenches work, Skunk is resigned to never having a stench of his own, until danger is near, and his instincts appear.

Noggin’s holiday slate consists of Warm and Fuzzy Marathons. They are airing a number of Christmas specials on Sundays through Christmas, and airing specially themed episodes for New Year’s as well. Toot and Puddle and Pinky Dinky Doo are the centerpiece shows. The complete slate of specials and premieres is below.

Pinky tells a story about when the Toilette family and the alien family come to visit Monkey Island for the New Year holiday. Big Sister Monkey can’t wait for her family’s New Year TRADITION: Baby Monkey dresses like a New Year’s Baby and hands out banana smoothies. But Daffinee can’t wait for her family TRADITION: to play “Happy New Year Clock Toss.” Bleepy Bloopy can’t wait for the his family TRADITION: an alien lightshow. They all want to do their TRADITION tonight and can’t decide which one they should do. Big Sister Monkey THINKS BIG and, when she sees everyone sharing the different food they brought, realizes they can share their New Year’s TRADITIONs too! So they do all three and it’s so much fun that it becomes a new New Year’s holiday TRADITION. Tyler asks why they hang baby stuff on New Year’s Eve and Pinky explains that Daddy was born on New Year’s Eve so it became a family TRADITION.

It is almost time for the New Year which means it’s time for a new calendar and a new storypad. But Tyler doesn’t want a new storypad or a new year because he isn’t MOTIVATED to try new things. So Pinky tells a story where she takes Tyler and Mr Guinea Pig on a walk through Made-Up Storyland on the last day of the Great Big Year. As they walk through the Garden of Last Year’s Stories they run into some of their old friends and remember the good times they had. They see Burpzilla, P. Piddy Pony, and Vicki Chicken, all of whom they invite along on their walk. But as they continue on their journey they come to the end of the path – a wall blocks the way to more characters and more new stories. It is time for Pinky to THINK BIG. Pinky takes up a piece of chalk and draws an entryway in the wall. On the other side there is more sidewalk and many more adventures to be had for Pinky and her friends. Tyler realizes that you can make up new stories while also keeping old favorites. He is now MOTIVATED to hear lots of new stories in the New Year. Pinky, Tyler, and their friends celebrate with a Happy Doo Year celebration.

It’s New Years in Woodcock Pocket and the gang is celebrating. All are happy and excited except for Dr. Ha Song, who is now a bit homesick missing his family in China. Toot sees this, so he devises a plan for everyone to surprise Dr. Ha Song with his very own Chinese New Years Party. Kung Hei Fat Choy! Toot and Puddle craft a dancing dragon costume, while Otto puts together some paper lanterns. With the help of a few additional townspeople, the team is able to surprise Dr. Ha Song, and have another great party!

Tired of Woodcock Pocket’s snowy weather, Toot travels off to the islands of Palau where he meets a crab. Together they have a carefree life of volleyball, snorkeling, and snoozing in a grass hut, on a secluded little island, until Toot has to return to Woodcock Pocket.

PBS Kids Sprout Nina and Star

Sprout will host a Snooz-a-thon on Christmas Eve starting. The programming block will run from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Christmas morning.

My first reaction to this news is why would a preschool television station have a special overnight block of programming on a night that all kids are supposed to be sound asleep? After reading the description though it will make a whole lot of sense:

From 6:00 p.m. ET on December 24 straight through to 5:00 a.m. ET Christmas morning, Sprout will air the “Snooze-A-Thon,” an 11-hour, uninterrupted block showcasing popular nighttime host Nina and her puppet sidekick Star from The Good Night Show® snoozing comfortably on the set, along with clips of beloved characters from preschool favorites like Sesame Street®, Dragon Talesâ„¢, The Hoobsâ„¢, Pinguâ„¢ and Berenstain Bearsâ„¢ catching some zzz’s. So, no matter what time of night the kids are up checking for the sound of reindeer hooves on the roof, parents can tune into Sprout to show them that even their favorite television friends are fast asleep waiting for Santa to arrive.

After watching the clip, it had to be Nina’s easiest gig yet.

Preschool Musical on a Stick

Sprout has created a special programming block focused on holiday music called Preschool Musical on a Stick. It is a 3 hour programming block that will air on December 15th from noon to 3 p.m. ET with encores the following week. To prepare, you can visit the Sprout website to download music and make your own stick puppets.

The winter holidays are here, and the kids are building a winter festival, Madame Zabinga is rehearsing the Nutty-Nutcracker, and Walden is waiting for the arrival of blue snow.  Best of all is the lighting of the Figgity-Fig Tree, and this year Wubbzy wants to make it the best tree ever!  But as usual, he overdoes it by adding too many lights and blows out the generator.  Without any lights, the Wuzzleburg townspeople must come up with novel ways of decorating the tree.  In “Snow Day,” Wubbzy goes sledding and Widget brings out his snow-shoveling machine.  Walden begins building a snow sculpture of a Woly-Polar Bear, but soon Wubbzy sleds right into it, knocks it down and buries Widget’s machine in the snow.  Now Wubbzy and Widget scramble frantically to fix the sculpture before Walden finds out.

On the sledding hill, Ruby is getting cold and wants to go inside.  Louise and Morris arrive and Morris’ winter snowsuit is identical to Max’s, but their hats, mitts and scarves are different colors.  Max manages to switch his accessories with Morris so that he can stay out and continue sledding with Louise. It’s not until Ruby gets home that she realizes there’s been a mix-up.  In the second story, Max and Ruby are entranced by “The Abominable Snow Bunny” radio show and when they go outside Max is determined to find the creature.  Ruby reminds him that there’s no such thing, but she soon starts to wonder if there really is a Snow Bunny!  In the final story, Max wants to play outside even though it’s snowing and blowing.  Ruby tries to engage him in all kinds of inside activities.  Max gets finger paints and macramé all over the house and creates chaos with Ruby’s dolly tea party.  When the snow stops and Ruby says they can play outside, Max is pleased with the havoc he’s created and decides to stay inside.

Sprout will also air Bob the Builder: A Christmas to Remember featuring Elton John and Crocodile Rock on December 18th at 4:30 p.m.
